The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has received interest from 10 investor groups, including three companies from Türkiye and several major Pakistani business groups.

The Turkish companies interested in IESCO are Aktor Elektrik Enerji Yatırımları, Genvera Enerji and Cengiz Enerji.

Among the Pakistani investors are Engro Energy Limited, Sapphire Fibres Limited, Novatex Limited and Bestway Cement Limited.

Three consortiums have also expressed interest. The Artistic Milliners Consortium includes Lake City Holdings, Fatima Capital, Din Ventures and Fazal Cloth Mills.

The Hub Power Holding Consortium comprises Lucky Cement, Kohat Cement and Metro Ventures, while the Hasnaat Brothers Construction Consortium includes Dhilal Holding Group, Pak Steel, Bio-Labs and Farid Steel Casting.

The latest investor interest comes after 10 parties were prequalified for FESCO, while 11 expressions of interest were received for GEPCO.

IESCO, FESCO and GEPCO are among the Batch-I distribution companies included in the government’s privatization process.

The government has conducted domestic and international roadshows as part of efforts to attract investors for the distribution companies.
