The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong bullish session on Tuesday as the benchmark KSE-100 Index surged more than 5,000 points, driven by renewed investor optimism linked to reports of a fresh round of peace talks between the United States and Iran.
The benchmark index climbed 5,043 points, or 3.14 percent, to close at 165,634 points, compared to the previous close of 160,591 points.
Market activity remained robust throughout the session, with over 358 million shares traded. The total value of shares exchanged at the end of the day stood at Rs. 28.79 billion.
Investor sentiment remained broadly positive as buying momentum dominated the trading floor. Out of 565 listed companies that participated in trading, 389 closed in the green, 64 recorded losses, while 112 remained unchanged.
Top-volume stocks included WTL, BOP, FNEL, TSBL, KEL, SSGC, and PIBTL, which saw heavy trading activity during the session.
