Pakistan Customs Enforcement has intensified its nationwide crackdown on smuggling and illicit trade, seizing over 2.5 million litres of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) allegedly being moved to Karachi using misuse of official auction documents linked to Customs and another law enforcement agency.

Officials say the fuel was being transported and stored through manipulated documentation, with oil marketing companies and storage operators under investigation. An FIR has been registered, and authorities are probing the full extent of the network.

In a separate operation in Khuzdar, the Field Enforcement Unit (FEU), operating under the Collectorate of Customs Gadani, intercepted a passenger bus on the RCD Highway following intelligence reports about smuggled goods. A search of the vehicle (registration BSA-058) led to the recovery of 948 bags of betel nut, totaling 12,324 kilograms. The seized consignment is valued at approximately Rs61.62 million, while the vehicle itself is worth around Rs12 million, bringing the total case value to about Rs73.62 million.

Meanwhile, Customs Enforcement Lahore conducted a late-night raid at the Truck Adda tyre market in coordination with the Intelligence Bureau (IB). During the operation, authorities recovered 1,341 smuggled tyres of various brands and sizes, equivalent to seven truckloads. Officials said the team faced resistance during the raid but managed to secure the site and complete the seizure, valued at approximately Rs23.2 million.

Customs officials stated that the coordinated actions in Karachi, Khuzdar, and Lahore reflect an expanded nationwide drive against smuggling networks. Investigations are ongoing, and further legal proceedings are expected against those involved.
