Shareholders of TPL Group companies have approved strategic equity investments exceeding Rs. 1.54 billion, clearing fresh capital injections into TPL REIT Fund I and Abhi Microfinance Bank Limited.

At an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) held on Wednesday, shareholders of TPL Properties Limited authorized an investment of up to Rs. 1.474 billion in TPL REIT Fund I, an associated undertaking, under Section 199 of the Companies Act, 2017.

The investment is aimed at expanding the company’s exposure to Pakistan’s real estate investment trust (REIT) sector, where TPL REIT Fund I serves as one of the group’s key investment vehicles.

In a separate EGM, shareholders of TPL Corp Limited approved an equity investment of up to Rs. 65.25 million in Abhi Microfinance Bank Limited.

The investment will strengthen TPL Corp’s position in the digital financial services space through Abhi, a technology-led microfinance bank focused on expanding access to banking and financial products.

Both transactions were approved through special resolutions under Section 199 of the Companies Act, 2017, which governs investments in associated companies and undertakings. Shareholders of both companies also ratified the minutes of their previous general meetings.
