Buying GTA 6 could save players up to $5,000, or around Rs. 1.38 million, according to British entrepreneur and finance YouTuber Mark Tilbury.
In an Instagram video posted on October 31, Tilbury compared the game’s price with the cost of spending evenings outside. His argument is that hundreds of hours of gameplay could offer cheaper entertainment than regular nights out.
GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
How GTA 6 Could Save $5,000
Tilbury used the game’s $99.99 Ultimate Edition price for his calculation.
He estimated that completing the main story would take around 80 hours, bringing the cost to about $1.25 per hour.
With side missions and exploring added, he estimated that players could get around 200 hours of entertainment, reducing the cost to roughly 50 cents per hour.
His comparison assumes four hours of gaming every evening for 50 nights.
He then compared those 50 nights with going out and spending $100 each time. That would cost $5,000, leading him to claim that buying GTA 6 could save players that amount.
These playtime estimates are Tilbury’s own calculations and have not been confirmed by Rockstar Games.
How Much GTA 6 Actually Costs
GTA 6 has two editions:
- Standard Edition: $79.99
- Ultimate Edition: $99.99
The Ultimate Edition includes additional vehicles, weapons, clothing and in-game businesses.
At the October 29 interbank exchange rate of Rs. 276.76 per dollar, the Standard Edition costs around Rs. 22,138, while the Ultimate Edition comes to approximately Rs. 27,673. These estimates exclude bank charges and taxes.
Using Tilbury’s 200-hour estimate, the Standard Edition would cost around 40 cents per hour of gameplay.
The $5,000 Claim Has a Catch
Tilbury’s calculation is based on spending $100 on each of 50 nights out. It does not mean players will actually receive $5,000 in savings.
After deducting the game’s $99.99 price, the potential net saving would be around $4,900, or Rs. 1.36 million, under his assumptions.
The comparison also depends on how much someone would normally spend on entertainment. A $100 night out is a high benchmark for most people in Pakistan.
There is another major cost to consider: the console.
GTA 6 will initially be available only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Anyone who does not already own one will have to pay for the hardware separately.
Players will also need sufficient storage and internet data to download the game.
So while GTA 6 could offer hundreds of hours of entertainment, the actual savings will depend on how much players spend on gaming and what they would otherwise do with their free time.
