Students have proposed three main measures to Cambridge Assessment International Education to address O/A Level exam paper leaks reported across Pakistan and already raised with the examination body.
The suggestions, circulating in student discussions online, including Reddit, focus on strengthening exam security after multiple reports of question papers being shared before official exam times in different centres across Pakistan.
The first proposal recommends using digitally watermarked question papers with slight variations in wording or structure across exam centres. Students say this would not affect the meaning of questions but could help trace the source of any leak more effectively.
The second suggestion involves deploying automated online response systems that would release multiple decoy versions of leaked papers if an authentic paper appears online, making it harder to identify the correct version.
The third proposal calls for eliminating early physical handling of exam papers by shifting to secure, near real-time digital transmission, with papers printed at exam centres shortly before exams begin to reduce the risk of pre-exam leaks.
Some students and online commenters, however, note that large-scale implementation across hundreds of centres could be difficult and costly, while others argue that partial leaks could still create unfair advantages if not fully contained.
The discussion reflects ongoing concerns over exam integrity and the challenge of securing large international examination systems across multiple regions.
