The Cabinet Committee on State-Owned Enterprises (CCoSOEs), chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, has approved the appointment of four independent directors to the boards of Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) and Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL).

The committee met at the Finance Division on August 20, 2026, to review matters concerning state-owned enterprises.

The committee approved one independent director for a vacant position on the PPL Board. The appointment was proposed by the Petroleum Division under the State-Owned Enterprise Policy 2023.

It also approved three independent director nominations for the OGDCL Board.

The appointments are aimed at filling vacant positions on the boards of the two state-owned oil and gas companies in line with the government’s SOE governance framework.
