The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has called on the government to review the daily petroleum pricing mechanism, saying the agreed deadline for reassessing the policy has passed without any action.
In a letter to the Petroleum Minister, the association said a meeting held on July 22 resulted in an agreement to review the daily fuel pricing system after two weeks.
However, the association stated that the agreed period has now ended, but the government has not initiated any review of the policy.
The association urged the government to make a final decision on the daily pricing mechanism after holding consultations with all relevant stakeholders.
It also called for implementation of the commitments agreed during the July 22 meeting and requested that decisions documented in the meeting minutes be acted upon.
