Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves recorded another sharp increase during the week ended September 11, 2026, with the country adding more than $3 billion to its reserves.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), its reserves increased by $3.061 billion during the week to $21.389 billion, compared with $18.328 billion a week earlier.
The country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves also rose by $3.075 billion to $26.791 billion as of September 11.
Of the total, $21.389 billion was held by the SBP, while commercial banks held $5.402 billion.
Commercial banks’ reserves increased by $15 million during the week.
The latest increase takes the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves to their highest level in the reported period.
