The Pakistani rupee (PKR) maintained its upward momentum against the US dollar (USD) on Tuesday, marking its 221st consecutive trading day of gains.
The rupee closed at 277.61 per US dollar, strengthening by 1.06 paisas during the session. The PKR has recorded consistent gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.
PKR Performance Against Major Currencies
The rupee remained broadly stable against the UAE dirham (AED) and Saudi riyal (SAR), while making stronger gains against the euro and British pound.
The PKR appreciated by Rs. 1.26 against the British pound and Rs. 1.22 against the euro.
It also strengthened by 60 paisas against the Australian dollar and 27 paisas against the Canadian dollar.

The latest movement extends the rupee’s prolonged streak of appreciation against the dollar, keeping the currency near its strongest levels in recent months.
