Pakistan’s net foreign direct investment (FDI) jumped 264 percent month-on-month to $179 million in July 2026, marking a sharp recovery from the previous month, according to State Bank of Pakistan data compiled by Topline Seecurities.

Despite the strong monthly rebound, July’s net FDI was still 20 percent lower than the same month last year.

The significant improvement came after June saw substantial investment outflows from the food and electronics sectors, which had weighed heavily on the overall FDI figure.

By sector, the power and financial services sectors attracted the largest foreign investment inflows during July.

Among individual countries, China and Canada remained the biggest sources of net FDI into Pakistan during the month.
