An online debate has emerged around the accuracy of artificial intelligence tools after Grok, the chatbot developed by xAI, was unable to provide a clear answer about the country behind a reported drone strike near a nuclear facility in Abu Dhabi.

Users on social media turned to the AI assistant for confirmation following reports of an attack, but the system did not attribute responsibility, reflecting the absence of verified information about the incident.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi confirmed that a drone strike caused a fire at an external electrical generator at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, located in the Al-Dhafra region of the United Arab Emirates.

According to an official statement issued through Abu Dhabi’s media office, no injuries were reported and the fire occurred outside the plant’s inner security perimeter. Officials also confirmed that radiological safety levels were unaffected and nuclear operations continued without disruption.

Emergency response teams quickly brought the fire under control. No country or group has claimed responsibility for the strike, and authorities have not publicly attributed the attack to any actor.

The episode has sparked wider discussion about the limitations of AI systems during developing security situations, where confirmed facts may remain unavailable in the immediate aftermath of an event.
