The government has introduced Export Facilitation Committees to help exporters resolve tax disputes and prevent unnecessary harassment by tax officials.
Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kayani discussed the initiative with representatives of exporters’ associations during a meeting in Karachi on Friday.
Kayani explained the tax relief measures included in the latest budget and invited exporters to share concerns affecting their businesses.
He said the newly notified committees would provide a formal channel for exporters to raise issues, settle disputes amicably and address problems encountered with tax authorities.
The minister said the government is focused on making trade easier and creating a more supportive environment for export-oriented industries.
Exporters also shared proposals on tax-related operational issues and measures that could help increase exports.
Kayani assured the industry of continued government support and regular engagement to address their concerns.
