Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Wednesday, tracking gains in the international market, with the price of the precious metal reaching a fresh record in the local market.

According to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of gold per tola increased by Rs. 4,600 to Rs. 433,836.

The price of 10 grams of gold also climbed Rs. 3,944 to Rs. 371,944.

A day earlier, gold prices had already risen by Rs. 4,700 per tola, taking the rate to Rs. 429,236.

In the international market, gold advanced $46 to $4,114 per ounce, including a $20 premium, providing support for the latest increase in domestic prices.

Meanwhile, silver also moved higher, with its price rising by Rs. 7 to Rs. 6,403 per tola.
