Pakistan’s urea sales fell 14% year on year in August 2026 to 701,000 tons, down from 817,000 tons a year earlier, according to data compiled by Arif Habib Limited.

Despite the annual decline, urea offtake increased 21% month on month from 580,000 tons in July.

Engro Fertilizers was the only major producer to post annual growth. Its urea sales jumped 18% to 327,000 tons, almost doubling from July, making it the country’s largest urea seller during the month and putting it ahead of Fauji Fertilizer.

Combined urea sales of Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) and Fauji Fertilizer Bin Qasim (FFBL) fell 30% year on year to 226,000 tons. Fatima Group’s sales declined 20% to 140,000 tons, while Agritech recorded the sharpest drop of 78%, with sales falling to just 9,000 tons.

For the first eight months of 2026, urea offtake remained broadly stable at 3.79 million tons compared with the same period last year.

FFC remained the leading seller over the eight-month period, with sales rising 11% to 1.90 million tons. Engro Fertilizers ranked second with sales of 1.03 million tons, down 12% year on year, while Fatima Group’s sales increased 3% to 681,000 tons.

DAP sales also declined in August, falling 10% year on year to 123,000 tons, although monthly offtake increased 32% from July.

FFC and FFBL jointly sold 91,000 tons of DAP, down 15% year on year. Engro’s DAP sales more than doubled to 16,000 tons, while private imports fell 24% to 15,000 tons.

Cumulative DAP offtake reached 701,000 tons during the first eight months of 2026, remaining broadly unchanged from last year. Private imports were the main growth area, increasing 22% to 122,000 tons.
