The federal government has slightly reduced the price of petrol while increasing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next 24 hours under its daily fuel pricing mechanism.

According to the latest notification, petrol (MS) has been reduced by Rs. 0.75 per litre to Rs. 335.06 per litre. Meanwhile, high-speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs. 2.24 per litre, taking its price to Rs. 390.62 per litre.

The latest revision comes as international crude oil prices remain elevated. At the time of filing, Brent crude was trading near $91 per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) stood around $85 per barrel.

On Tuesday, the government had raised petrol prices by Rs. 1.63 per litre to Rs. 335.81, while diesel prices increased by Rs. 1.55 per litre to Rs. 388.38.

Since the introduction of daily fuel price revisions on 18 July, petrol prices have climbed by Rs. 24.35 per litre, while diesel has surged by Rs. 67.32 per litre, reflecting the sharp rise in global oil prices.
