Pakistan’s federal government debt rose 6.6 percent Year-on-Year (YoY) to Rs83.383 trillion in July 2026, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The debt, however, declined 0.3 percent Month-on-Month (MoM) from Rs83.642 trillion recorded in June 2026.

Central Government Domestic Debt increased 7.8 percent YoY to Rs59.274 trillion in July 2026.

Within domestic debt, long-term public debt climbed to Rs48.377 trillion in July from Rs46.191 trillion a year earlier.

Short-term debt also rose significantly, increasing from Rs8.726 trillion to Rs10.815 trillion over the same period.
