Gold prices continued their downward trend in Pakistan on Saturday, following another slight decline in the international bullion market.
According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs. 43 per tola, bringing the new rate to Rs. 437,993.
The price of 10 grams of gold also declined by Rs. 39, settling at Rs. 374,166.
The latest decrease comes a day after one of the biggest single-day corrections in recent weeks, when gold prices plunged by Rs. 14,900 per tola on Friday, closing at Rs. 438,036.
Globally, gold edged lower by $0.4 per ounce, with the international price settling at $4,155.6 per ounce, contributing to the continued softness in local rates.
Meanwhile, silver moved in the opposite direction. Its price increased by Rs. 16 per tola to reach Rs. 6,962 in the domestic market.
