Karachi is set to get a major electronic music event this month, with Swedish DJ and producer Axwell scheduled to perform at Moin Khan Academy in DHA on September 19, according to a statement from OP Productions.

The event, titled First Light, will mark Karachi’s first international electronic music event, according to the organizers.

Axwell, whose full name is Axel Christofer Hedfors, is a member of Swedish House Mafia and a well-known name in the global electronic dance music scene.

The event is being produced and creatively directed by OP Productions CEO Omer H. Paracha.

Organizers said First Light will feature a specially built stage, large-scale visual displays and a cinematic production centered on the theme of dawn.

The event will combine an international headline performance with a large-scale electronic music and visual experience, while organizers said audience safety and overall experience will remain a key focus.

The performance is scheduled for September 19 at Moin Khan Academy, DHA Sports Club, Karachi.
