Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves increased slightly during the week ended September 25, 2026, with the State Bank of Pakistan’s holdings rising by nearly $39 million.

According to the latest data released by the SBP, its reserves increased to $21.439 billion from $21.400 billion a week earlier.

However, the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves declined by $39.7 million to $26.771 billion during the week.

Of the total, $21.439 billion was held by the SBP, while commercial banks held $5.332 billion.

Reserves held by commercial banks fell by $78.6 million compared with the previous week.

Despite the overall decline in total reserves, the SBP’s holdings increased during the week.

The country’s current foreign exchange reserves provide import cover of around 3.04 months.
