Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves declined during the week ended July 24, 2026, with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reporting a weekly drop of $229 million in its holdings.
According to the latest data released by the central bank, SBP-held reserves decreased to $17.03 billion from $17.259 billion recorded a week earlier.
The country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $22.442 billion as of July 24.
Out of the total reserves, the SBP held $17.030 billion, while commercial banks maintained $5.412 billion in foreign currency reserves.
The weekly decline reflects changes in external payment flows and reserve movements during the period.
