Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday called for concrete measures to increase Pakistan’s exports and strengthen industries focused on international markets.
The direction came during a meeting held to review a proposed export strategy, where officials presented policy recommendations aimed at expanding the country’s export base.
The prime minister said export-driven industrial growth remains central to Pakistan’s economic objectives, stressing that government efforts will focus on improving facilitation for industries while boosting export performance.
He instructed relevant authorities to prepare a detailed plan to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and other sectors with strong export potential.
Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized encouraging new businesses and emerging industries that can help diversify exports and improve Pakistan’s presence in global markets.
Highlighting long-term competitiveness, the prime minister underscored the role of research and development, innovation, and technological modernization in strengthening Pakistan’s industrial sector.
