Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir have arrived in Switzerland to participate in high-level diplomatic talks aimed at advancing efforts toward a ceasefire between United States and Iran.

US Vice President JD Vance is also expected to take part in the negotiations, while the Iranian delegation has already reached the venue. The discussions are being held in Burgenstock under a mediation framework involving Pakistan and Qatar.

According to diplomatic sources, the talks are focused on securing implementation of an interim understanding designed to halt hostilities and prevent further escalation in the region.

Pakistan has reiterated its support for continued dialogue and has said it will work to ensure that the understandings reached between Washington and Tehran are fully carried out, as global efforts intensify to end the ongoing conflict.
