The government has reversed its earlier decision to temporarily lower speed limits on motorways and national highways, restoring the previous driving limits for all categories of vehicles.
According to the Motorway Police spokesperson Syed Imran Ahmed, the speed limit for cars and other light vehicles on motorways has been reinstated at 120 km/h, while passenger buses and heavy transport vehicles are again allowed to travel up to 110 km/h.
He added that the earlier reduced limits on national highways have also been withdrawn, bringing traffic regulations back to their previous settings.
Motorway Police said the decision was taken to facilitate road users, but emphasized that motorists must continue to follow safety rules, including seat belt use and safe driving practices.
Officials reiterated that despite the restoration of higher limits, road safety remains a priority and drivers are expected to maintain discipline on highways.
