Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik has said that the public can expect positive developments regarding a possible reduction in petroleum prices in the coming days.
Talking to Geo News, he stated that citizens have already borne financial pressure due to regional tensions linked to the Iran–US conflict, which had previously pushed fuel prices upward and strained household budgets.
He added that international crude oil prices have now declined to their lowest level in about three months in global markets, creating space for possible relief.
The minister said the government remains committed, in line with the Prime Minister’s instructions, to pass on any possible benefit to consumers by reducing fuel prices where feasible.
He further noted that market expectations of Iranian crude returning to global supply channels have contributed to the recent downward trend in oil prices.
Ali Pervaiz Malik also said that international observers are acknowledging the diplomatic and strategic efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar in relation to regional developments.
