The federal government is moving forward with an AI-powered digital platform that will allow the Prime Minister’s Office to monitor ministries, track projects, and oversee policy implementation in real time as part of its digital governance agenda.

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Cheema chaired a meeting to review the Prime Minister’s Office System (PMOS), a centralized platform being developed by the Pakistan Digital Authority. The meeting was attended by Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Secretary IT Zarar Hashim Khan, Chairman Pakistan Digital Authority Sohail Munir, and other senior officials.

During the briefing, officials demonstrated how PMOS will connect the Prime Minister’s Office with federal ministries and departments through a single digital dashboard, enabling instant communication of directives, live progress tracking, and performance monitoring.

The platform will also feature an automated alert system that notifies federal secretaries and other officials when assigned tasks remain overdue, with the aim of improving accountability and ensuring timely implementation of government decisions.

Officials also presented a sovereign AI-powered GPT research tool designed to assist government officers by retrieving past directives, official notifications, and policy decisions. The AI assistant will support internal research, streamline administrative work, and help officials complete tasks more efficiently.

Cheema directed stakeholders to further refine the platform before its wider rollout, saying the initiative will strengthen coordination across ministries and support the implementation of Pakistan’s National Digital Masterplan. He added that AI-driven governance and connected digital services will play a key role in improving transparency, public service delivery, and government efficiency.
