Pakistan’s freelancers have achieved a record $1.6 billion in export earnings during the first 11 months of FY26, according to a post on X by an advisor to the Finance Minister.

The post stated that freelance exports have grown by around 80% year-on-year, reflecting strong expansion in Pakistan’s digital services sector. It added that in May 2026 alone, earnings reached $169 million, marking an 87% increase compared to the same month last year.

The advisory highlighted that Pakistani freelancers are increasingly contributing to global tech, creative, and digital service markets, strengthening the country’s position in international remote work and online outsourcing industries.

The figures point to continued momentum in Pakistan’s freelance economy, driven by rising global demand for digital services and growing participation of local professionals in international platforms.
