Pakistan’s petrol pump owners have urged the government to review its daily fuel pricing mechanism, saying frequent price changes are causing financial losses and disrupting business operations.

The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has requested a meeting with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik to discuss the impact of the policy on fuel retailers.

In a letter to the minister, the association said repeated price adjustments were creating uncertainty in fuel purchases and sales, making it difficult for retailers to manage cash flow and value existing fuel stocks.

It warned that frequent changes in petroleum prices were exposing petrol pump owners to financial risks and complicating routine business operations.

The association called for a practical and transparent pricing mechanism, urging the government to consult fuel retailers before introducing price changes.

It also asked the government to consider the interests of petrol pump owners while ensuring an uninterrupted fuel supply to consumers.

The requested meeting would allow the association to explain the difficulties caused by the current system and propose measures to reduce uncertainty in stock management and cash flow.
