Pakistan is set to receive a major fertilizer shipment as Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC) has dispatched a vessel from Morocco carrying 50,000 tons of fertilizer, according to JS Global, as reported by ProPakistani.
The cargo is expected to arrive in Pakistan on July 10 and includes multiple fertilizer products for different companies.
The shipment consists of 10,000 tons of diammonium phosphate (DAP) for FFC, 10,000 tons of triple superphosphate (TSP), and 20,000 tons of nitrophosphate sulphur (NPS). In addition, 5,000 tons of DAP each are allocated for Engro Fertilizers and Fatima Fertilizer.
Pakistan continues to rely heavily on imports to meet its demand for phosphatic fertilizers, particularly DAP, as local production remains limited. Morocco remains one of the world’s leading exporters of phosphate-based fertilizers and has been a key supplier to Pakistan in recent years.
The timely arrival of the shipment is expected to support fertilizer availability ahead of the upcoming Kharif sowing season, helping ensure stable supply for farmers during a period of rising seasonal demand.
