US companies are assessing investment opportunities in Pakistan’s mining sector, with a particular focus on critical minerals such as copper, antimony, and tungsten, US Embassy officials told RBN.
According to the officials, American commercial interest spans everything from small mineral trading ventures to potential multi-million-dollar investments in large-scale mining projects.
They said some US firms have already started working with local license holders and small-scale miners to source minerals, including antimony. In certain cases, companies purchase raw or semi-processed ore, conduct quality testing, and export it into global supply chains.
Officials noted that antimony has become increasingly valuable because of its use in defense manufacturing, advanced batteries, precision optics, and other high-tech industries. Pakistan possesses several high-grade antimony deposits, although most are found in relatively small, concentrated reserves rather than extensive mining sites.
They said copper, antimony, and tungsten are among the strategic minerals drawing growing attention from American companies as the United States seeks to strengthen and diversify its critical mineral supply chains.
The officials added that prospective investments could range from projects worth a few million dollars to major copper mining developments requiring substantial capital commitments.
