The claim that the Finance Bill has already introduced a monthly installment option for PTA mobile device registration taxes is inaccurate.

While there has been discussion around easing payment methods, neither the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority nor the Federal Board of Revenue has issued any notification or operational framework confirming an installment-based system, and no formal implementation has been announced by the Ministry of Finance.

The amended Finance Bill has revealed that there will be an installment plan but the mechanism has yet to be developed.

Under the existing DIRBS framework, device taxes and duties must still be paid in full upfront before a handset is approved for use on local mobile networks, and no change to that process has been officially introduced or activated.
