The federal government has raised profit rates on several National Savings schemes, giving investors higher returns from October 1, 2026.
According to a notification issued by the National Savings Department, the revised rates have taken effect from October 1. Some of the schemes now offer returns above the State Bank of Pakistan’s 11.5 percent policy rate.
The profit rate on Short Term Savings Certificates has been increased by 3 basis points (BPS) to 11.31 percent from 11.28 percent.
The Pensioners Benefit Account now offers a 12.72 percent profit rate, up 12 BPS from 12.6 percent.
The return on Defence Savings Certificates has been raised by 19 BPS to 11.8 percent from 11.61 percent.
The profit rate on Bahbood Savings Certificates has also increased by 12 BPS to 12.72 percent.
Meanwhile, the Serwa Islamic Term Account and Serwa Islamic Saving Account will both offer an 11.33 percent rate of return.
National Savings profit rates are generally adjusted in line with changes in interest rates and broader monetary policy conditions.
