Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has ridiculed an award recently conferred on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that it was hastily created using a “cheap artificial intelligence (AI) model.”

In a post on X, Khawaja Asif said the award was introduced only days before Modi’s visit and described it as a “fabricated and embarrassing” recognition.

He further said that the award certificates contained obvious spelling mistakes, which he said suggested they had been generated using a low-quality AI tool.

According to the defence minister, Modi became the first and only recipient of the award, calling the move an attempt to manufacture international recognition.

Khawaja Asif also described the effort to project Modi as a globally admired leader as “deeply embarrassing,” claiming it reflected poorly on India’s image.
