Jordan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have imposed restrictions on journalists covering the impact of Iranian strikes, according to RT.

A BBC journalist said media coverage of the attacks was subject to severe restrictions in the region, adding that filming the strikes had been criminalized in some Gulf countries, particularly Jordan and the UAE.

The journalist also recalled an earlier incident in Jordan, saying their filming equipment was confiscated despite having permission to record.

According to the journalist, reporters were also warned against using their mobile phones to film, even after presenting official letters authorizing them to work in the country.

“No one is allowed to capture any of this,” the journalist said, referring to the restrictions on recording the impact of the attacks.

The UAE has previously introduced restrictions on publishing images and information related to Iranian strikes. State media reports said authorities had prohibited the publication of images or information concerning the attacks.

The Committee to Protect Journalists has also reported restrictions on press freedom in Gulf countries since the conflict began.

UAE authorities have cited national security when defending restrictions related to coverage of Iranian attacks. Rights groups have raised concerns that such measures could limit independent reporting and verification of damage caused by the strikes.
