Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture reports a sharp increase in pistachio exports, marking a significant jump in overseas shipments compared to last year.

According to official figures, exports have risen by more than 250%, climbing from around 1,500 tons in the same period last year to approximately 5,363 tons this year. Authorities say this represents one of the strongest short-term expansions in the country’s pistachio trade.

Pistachios are among Iran’s most important agricultural exports and a key source of non-oil revenue. The latest surge reflects stronger international demand for the crop, which is widely produced in Iran’s agricultural regions.

Officials say the growth comes during a period of continued external economic and political pressure on the country, though no direct causal link has been established between these conditions and export performance.
