The federal government has refused to share asset declarations of the Prime Minister’s advisers and special assistants with the Senate despite a formal parliamentary request seeking financial disclosures.

According to official documents, Senator Hidayatullah had asked for details of assets declared by the Prime Minister’s advisers and special assistants over the last two years. In response, the Cabinet Division submitted a written reply but did not provide the requested financial information.

The Cabinet Division maintained that the asset declaration records exist within its administrative domain but did not disclose any specifics to lawmakers.

Officials informed the Senate that the Prime Minister currently has three advisers: Rana Sanaullah Khan, Muhammad Ali, and Pervez Khattak.

The Cabinet Division also confirmed the appointment of seven Special Assistants to the Prime Minister, namely Tariq Fatemi, Muhammad Sadiq, Tariq Bajwa, Huzefa Rehman, Mubarak Zeb, Talha Burki, and Fahad Haroon.

The government’s decision not to release the asset details has drawn attention in parliamentary circles, where members have repeatedly emphasized financial transparency and accountability for individuals holding influential advisory roles within the federal administration.

The issue is expected to trigger further discussion in the Senate regarding disclosure requirements and oversight of unelected officials involved in policymaking and governance.
