Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on Monday, tracking a strong rally in international markets.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs4,643 per tola, taking the new rate to Rs442,636.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also recorded a significant increase of Rs4,179, settling at Rs378,345.
The latest gains come after gold prices had edged down by Rs43 per tola on Saturday, when the precious metal closed at Rs437,993 per tola.
In the international market, gold climbed by $46 to $4,202 per ounce, including a premium of $20, providing fresh momentum to local prices.
Meanwhile, silver prices also moved higher, with the rate increasing by Rs189 per tola to reach Rs7,151.
