Loads Limited is exploring an entry into Pakistan’s copper sector through a potential joint venture with China’s Anhui New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (Xinhuida), while both companies are also evaluating possible acquisitions in the country’s copper manufacturing industry.
In a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, Loads said it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Xinhuida to explore cooperation in Pakistan and international markets.
The proposed partnership covers copper trading, processing, manufacturing, exports, strategic investments, technology transfer, supply chain integration, and other related commercial opportunities.
As a first step, the two companies plan to pursue copper trading and supply chain opportunities while assessing the feasibility of setting up a joint venture in Pakistan. The proposed venture may focus on investment in copper, advanced copper materials, value-added products, and technology-intensive industrial businesses.
The two sides are also considering potential acquisitions in Pakistan’s copper manufacturing sector as part of a broader plan to build a platform for expansion and export-led growth.
According to the company, the collaboration could also include the establishment of new manufacturing facilities, transfer of technology, and introduction of advanced copper materials, components, wiring solutions, and energy infrastructure products for both domestic and international markets.
Xinhuida operates an integrated business covering recycled copper rods, copper processing, power and communication cables, EV wiring systems, digital energy harnesses, photovoltaic connectors, semiconductor-related components, and other copper-based materials and products.
Loads said all proposed arrangements, including any joint venture or acquisition, remain subject to due diligence, negotiations, execution of definitive agreements, and the required corporate and regulatory approvals.
The company added that discussions are still at a preliminary stage and there is no assurance that any transaction will ultimately materialize.
