The Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has signed an agreement with the National Forensics Agency (NFA) to strengthen its ability to investigate competition law cases.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at the CCP headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday in the presence of CCP Chairman Farid Ahmad Tarar and NFA Director General Jawad Ahmad Dogar.

Under the agreement, the NFA will provide the CCP with technical assistance in digital, document, and other forensic fields to help examine evidence during investigations.

The two institutions will also work together on forensic analysis, technical support, training, capacity building, and knowledge sharing.

CCP Chairman Farid Ahmad Tarar said modern investigations increasingly require scientific evidence and specialized technical skills, particularly as business records and activities move into the digital space.

He said the partnership would help the CCP handle complex digital and electronic evidence more effectively.

NFA Director General Jawad Ahmad Dogar said the agency would provide its forensic expertise and technical support to the CCP. He described the agreement as the beginning of a long-term partnership between the two institutions.

The collaboration is expected to improve the CCP’s investigative capabilities and strengthen enforcement of competition laws in Pakistan.
