Pakistan recorded its highest-ever monthly sales of bikes and three-wheelers in September 2026, with 202,502 units sold, up 27 percent year-on-year and 14 percent month-on-month. In contrast, car sales dropped 12 percent year-on-year to 15,104 units, according to Topline Research data based on PAMA figures.
Car sales also fell 3 percent compared with August. However, total sales for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 reached 50,480 units, marking a 19 percent increase from the same period last year.
Topline Research attributed the monthly decline in car sales partly to uncertainty over sales tax rules for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The lack of clarity reportedly held back new invoicing by automakers.
The two- and three-wheeler market moved in the opposite direction, with sales climbing to a new monthly record in September.
For its analysis, Topline Research divided Sazgar Engineering Works Limited’s (SAZEW) combined August and September sales figures for Haval and Tank vehicles equally between the two months.
