Samsung has started internal testing of the Android 17-based One UI 9 update for the Galaxy A24 4G, signaling that development is already underway for the smartphone’s next major software upgrade.
A new test firmware, identified by build number A245FXXUCGZF4, has appeared on Samsung’s servers. While this confirms active development, the company has not announced a timeline for the One UI 9 beta or stable release for the Galaxy A24.
The move comes shortly after Samsung rolled out the stable One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, for the device.
Currently, only the Galaxy S26 series is participating in Samsung’s One UI 9 beta program. The company is expected to gradually expand beta access to additional eligible Galaxy smartphones before the stable rollout begins.
Samsung’s upcoming foldable lineup—the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra—is widely expected to debut with One UI 9 pre-installed. The devices are rumored to be unveiled at the next Galaxy Unpacked event on July 22.
The Galaxy A24 remains one of Samsung’s supported mid-range smartphones and is expected to receive the Android 17-based update as part of the company’s ongoing software support program, although an official rollout schedule has yet to be confirmed.
