Pakistan has rejected any possibility of joining the Abraham Accords, reaffirming its existing policy of non-recognition of Israel and linking any future engagement to the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif stated that Pakistan cannot be part of any arrangement that normalizes relations with Israel under the current conditions. He reiterated that Islamabad’s position on the issue remains unchanged and is consistent with its long-standing diplomatic stance.
He also pointed out that Pakistan’s passport already reflects this policy, as it does not permit travel to Israel, underscoring that the country does not maintain official relations with Tel Aviv.
The remarks come amid renewed international discussion around expanding the Abraham Accords framework, which has already brought normalization between Israel and several Arab states since 2020.
Pakistan has consistently stayed outside these agreements, maintaining that recognition of Israel is only possible after a just resolution of the Palestinian issue through a viable two-state solution.
Officials said the government’s position remains aligned with broader domestic sentiment and long-established foreign policy principles, despite external diplomatic pressure to reconsider its stance.
