Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has warned that the United States is now negotiating from a position of weakness in its ongoing standoff with Iran, following stalled diplomatic efforts and escalating tensions.
In a televised interview, Clinton said Washington should have been applying stronger diplomatic pressure on Tehran but instead appears to have surrendered much of its negotiating leverage. She argued that recent developments show the United States struggling to maintain influence at the negotiating table.
Clinton also criticized the foreign policy approach of President Donald Trump, questioning the role played by senior advisers, including Jared Kushner and Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, in handling sensitive negotiations tied to the regional crisis.
According to Clinton, the current diplomatic strategy has weakened America’s global standing and reduced its ability to shape outcomes in one of the world’s most volatile geopolitical confrontations.
Political analysts say the continuing deadlock between Washington and Tehran risks prolonging instability across the Middle East, as global powers watch closely for any breakthrough that could prevent further escalation.
