A strong western weather system is set to enter Pakistan from Monday evening, prompting a nationwide weather alert from the Pakistan Meteorological Department, warning of thunderstorms, gusty winds, dust storms, and scattered rainfall across multiple regions.

The National Weather Forecasting Centre said the system is expected to first impact northern areas, bringing rain with thunder and strong winds to Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, and Islamabad over the next few days.

Meteorologists further warned that upper and central Punjab may experience dust storms along with isolated rain spells, while some areas could also see hail and intense wind activity.

Officials said the weather system is likely to temporarily ease recent heat conditions, bringing a noticeable drop in temperatures across affected regions.

Authorities have cautioned that strong winds may damage weak structures, trees, electricity poles, and solar installations, urging relevant departments to stay on high alert to prevent disruptions.

Farmers have been advised to adjust agricultural activities in line with the changing weather, while tourists heading to northern destinations have been urged to exercise caution due to potentially hazardous conditions.

Local administrations across the country have been instructed to remain prepared and implement emergency measures where necessary to minimize potential damage.
