Internet connectivity problems disrupted the communication link between the Supreme Court and its Quetta Registry, the Senate IT committee was told on Thursday.

Senator Kamran Murtaza raised the issue during a committee meeting chaired by Senator Palwasha Khan. He said the Supreme Court and its Quetta Registry were unable to establish their connection because of an internet problem.

The committee chair also said complaints about internet disruptions were being received from Islamabad.

Following the discussion, lawmakers called for an assessment of internet services across the country. PTA Chairman Hafeez Ur Rehman told the committee that the regulator would present a nationwide briefing on internet services within one month.

The PTA is expected to provide the Senate panel with an update covering internet availability and network-related issues across Pakistan.

The discussion comes as internet reliability and service disruptions remain under scrutiny in different parts of the country.
