Authorities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad have suspended all forms of transport, including private vehicles, public transit, and goods carriers, with immediate effect until further orders. Officials say the suspension will remain in place until the situation is reviewed and further instructions are issued.
In a significant security escalation, over 10,000 police personnel have been deployed across the city, while 600 checkpoints have been set up to monitor movement and maintain order.
Officials have also confirmed that beginning at midnight, strict cordons will be enforced around Nur Khan Airbase and Islamabad International Airport, effectively sealing the surrounding areas as part of heightened security arrangements.
Residents are being urged to stay informed through official channels and comply with security directives as the city remains under tight surveillance.
