The Chief Minister IT Internship Program, an initiative of the Government of Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), launched on the directives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, aims to strengthen Punjab’s digital workforce by providing young graduates with industry-relevant skills and on-site professional experience.

Under the program, more than 225 leading IT companies across Punjab have partnered to offer over 2,400 internship opportunities, giving fresh graduates practical exposure and hands-on experience required to compete in the digital economy.

The initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s vision of equipping youth with in-demand technological skills while supporting the growth of the IT sector. By promoting collaboration between academia and industry, the program is designed to ensure graduates are job-ready and aligned with market needs.

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of PKR 50,000, allowing them to gain professional experience without financial burden. Participating companies will also receive PKR 12,500 per intern per month, encouraging broader industry participation and strengthening the talent development ecosystem.

The internship duration is up to five months, during which participants will work closely with industry professionals and gain exposure to modern tools, technologies, and workplace practices.

To ensure transparency and merit-based selection, applicants must meet defined eligibility criteria, including holding a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, having completed their education within the last four years, possessing a valid CNIC, and a domicile of Punjab.
