Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan has been elected unopposed as Chairman of the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA) for the 2026-28 term following the association’s Central Executive Committee elections.

Dr. Khan, an academic and technology industry leader, will lead P@SHA as Pakistan’s IT sector continues to expand and attract investment.

After his election, Dr. Khan said he was honored by the confidence placed in him by P@SHA members. He said his initial focus would be on engaging with the government on technology policy, expanding skills development and promoting Pakistan as a hub for IT innovation and investment.

He also said P@SHA would work to create better conditions for local startups and help established technology companies expand into international markets.

Former P@SHA Chairman Muhammad Zohaib Khan and CEC member Dr. Faisal Kamiran withdrew their nominations in support of Dr. Shoab Ahmed Khan, resulting in his unanimous election.

P@SHA also elected Wahab Yunus as Senior Vice Chairman and Samad Saleem as Vice Chairman for the 2026-28 term.

The newly elected Central Executive Committee includes representatives from different areas of Pakistan’s technology and IT industry.

The association thanked its outgoing leadership and said it would continue working on industry development, policy advocacy and the expansion of Pakistan’s IT and IT-enabled services sector.

Established in 1993, P@SHA represents Pakistan’s software and technology companies and works on issues affecting the country’s technology ecosystem.

Dr. Khan’s election follows a period of leadership disputes within the association. In August, eight CEC members passed a no-confidence motion against then Chairman Sajjad Mustafa Syed. The Directorate General of Trade Organizations later declared the move invalid and restored Syed to his position.
