Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered the complete outsourcing of operations at the Islamabad Technology Park and directed authorities to accelerate its construction.
The directive came during a meeting reviewing reforms at the National Information Technology Board (NITB) and the progress of the technology park.
The Prime Minister voiced concern over the delay in completing the facility and instructed the relevant authorities to finish construction as soon as possible and make the park operational on a priority basis.
He directed NITB to focus on delivering faster, simpler and more modern digital services to citizens, while calling for greater coordination among government institutions.
Shehbaz also ordered improvements to existing government digital platforms and directed all subordinate departments and state-owned enterprises to adopt the e-office system.
Officials briefed the meeting that NITB has completed its rightsizing exercise and is filling key posts through a transparent recruitment process. Federal ministries have already transitioned to e-office, with its rollout continuing across other government departments and state-owned entities.
The Prime Minister further instructed authorities to speed up the digitisation of government property records and expand the use of modern technologies across public institutions.
