The Islamabad Health Department has reminded pharmacies that medicines containing pregabalin must not be sold without a valid prescription.

In a public and pharmacists’ alert, the department’s Pharmacy Services and Drug Control section directed all licensed pharmacies and pharmacists to follow the restriction, citing instructions issued on July 10, 2026.

The department said the requirement was intended to protect public health and support the safe use of medicines. It also urged people to consult qualified medical practitioners before obtaining prescription medicines and to follow their medical advice.
